Ben Thanh Market

Ho Chi Minh City rewards a simple food plan: one place you want to try, then time to enjoy the neighbourhood around it. These ten addresses range from rice-roll shops to a contemporary Vietnamese dining room. Ănăn Saigon holds one MICHELIN Star; the other nine have Bib Gourmands.

Checked September 24, 2026 against the 2026 MICHELIN Guide selection. This is our editorial Top 10, not a Michelin ranking or a firsthand dining review. A Bib Gourmand recognises good-value cooking; it is not a Michelin Star. Confirm opening times, menus and reservations directly before visiting.

1. Ănăn Saigon

One MICHELIN Star | 89 Ton That Dam Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

Ănăn takes Vietnamese street-food ideas in a contemporary direction under chef Peter Cuong Franklin. Choose it for a planned dining occasion rather than a quick noodle stop. Check the current menu, reservation conditions and dietary options directly; examples in older reviews may no longer be served.

2. Bánh Xèo 46A

Bib Gourmand | 46 Dinh Cong Trang Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

The large bánh xèo contains pork, shrimp, sprouts and mung beans. It is a good dish to share, with herbs adding contrast to each bite. Start with one pancake for the table and check its size before ordering more. Tell staff about any shellfish restrictions before you order.

3. Bếp Mẹ ỉn (Le Thanh Ton Street)

Bib Gourmand | 136 Le Thanh Ton Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

Near Ben Thanh Market, this branch makes an easy sit-down meal between central sightseeing stops. Michelin highlights the shrimp-and-pork pancake and coconut-shell fried rice. Choose a couple of dishes to share rather than treating each as an individual course. Use the Le Thanh Ton address when navigating.

4. Nhà Tú

Bib Gourmand | 129/4 Vo Van Tan Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

Nhà Tú focuses on Vietnamese home cooking, with plants and a balcony setting. Ask about vegetables, rice and a shared main rather than ordering only rich dishes. Vegetables can come with fish sauce and pork crackling, so a vegetable name alone does not establish that a dish is vegetarian.

5. Cục Gạch Quán

Bib Gourmand | 10 Dang Tat Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

A shared Vietnamese meal is the natural approach here: rice, vegetables and a soup such as sweet-and-sour fish soup. Michelin also mentions lemongrass fried tofu. Ask staff to balance portions for your group, and confirm the correct dining-room entrance because the restaurant uses spaces across the street.

6. Mặn Mòi (An Khánh)

Bib Gourmand | 32 D11 Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

This An Khánh branch has a courtyard and a broad Vietnamese menu covering soups, grilled dishes, clay pots and hotpots. It suits a meal you plan around, rather than a detour between central landmarks. Check travel time and book the exact branch before setting off.

7. Phở Lệ (An Đông)

Bib Gourmand | 413-415 Nguyen Trai Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

Choose this branch for southern-style beef phở. The mixed bowl can include brisket, meatballs and tendon, so check what is included if you prefer a simpler combination. Specify fully cooked beef if that is your preference, then taste the broth before adding sauces and herbs.

8. Hồng Phát (Bàn Cờ)

Bib Gourmand | 389-391 Vo Van Tan Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

Hủ tiếu here introduces a different noodle tradition, with Chaozhou and Khmer influences noted by Michelin. The soup can contain shrimp, minced meat, liver and blood curd. Ask about toppings before ordering if you prefer to leave something out; do not assume it is simply another bowl of phở.

9. Bánh Cuốn Tây Hồ 127

Bib Gourmand | 127 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

This 2026 Bib Gourmand addition makes rice rolls to order, with pork-and-jicama filling and a vegetarian option described by Michelin. Check the sauce and sides separately if you avoid animal ingredients. It is an approachable choice when you want a smaller meal rather than a large shared spread.

10. Bún Bò Huế 14B

Bib Gourmand | 14B Street 46, Ho Chi Minh City.

Michelin currently describes this as takeout only, so plan where you will eat instead of arriving expecting a dining room. The bowl can include beef, tendon and fish fillet. Check today’s ordering arrangements, choose your toppings and keep the soup upright on the way back.

Choose the exact branch listed above, check its current opening times and ask about portions before ordering. Menu prices can change, so confirm the total for extras, drinks and any service charges.
