My Khe Beach

Da Nang works well when you mix beach time with a few cultural stops instead of filling every day. These ten picks include central places and longer outings around the city. Ba Na Hills and Hai Van Pass need their own transport plans; they are not quick additions to a downtown walk. Use the maps to see the distances before booking.

1. My Khe Beach

My Khe is an easy choice when you want the beach without leaving the city behind. Walk along the shore, take a break in the shade and check local swimming flags before entering the water. A beach afternoon can be enough; you do not need to book an activity to enjoy it.

2. Dragon Bridge

The dragon-shaped bridge is one of Da Nang’s clearest landmarks and a good focus for a riverfront walk. Look at it from the promenade rather than stopping in traffic. If you want to see a scheduled display, confirm the current programme locally instead of planning around an old timetable.

3. Marble Mountains

Marble Mountains combines caves, shrines and viewpoints in a compact but physically demanding outing. Expect steps and uneven surfaces, even if you use a lift for part of the visit. Wear shoes with grip, bring water and leave enough time to explore rather than racing to the highest viewpoint.

4. Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra

Specify the Son Tra or Bai But pagoda when arranging transport, because the Da Nang area has more than one Linh Ung. The large white statue and coastal setting are striking, but this remains a place of worship. Dress respectfully and enjoy the view without climbing into restricted areas.

5. Museum of Cham Sculpture

This museum is a useful cultural counterpoint to a beach holiday, with sculptures connected to the heritage of Champa. Read the labels and look closely at the stone details rather than rushing through for photographs. It pairs well with the central riverfront and gives context to other historic sites in central Vietnam.

6. Han Market

Han Market gives you a concentrated look at everyday goods, food products and souvenir shopping. Compare prices and confirm quantities before paying. Food purchases need practical thought if you are carrying them onward. Go to browse and observe as well as buy, and keep narrow aisles clear.

7. Non Nuoc Beach

Non Nuoc is worth considering when you want to connect a beach visit with the Marble Mountains area. Check a public access point on your map rather than assuming a resort entrance is open to everyone. Conditions change along the coast, so judge swimming on the day and follow local advice.

8. Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills

The bridge supported by giant hand-shaped structures is inside the Ba Na Hills attraction complex, not beside downtown Da Nang. Budget time for the journey, entry and cable-car arrangements. Mountain cloud can change the view quickly. Choose this as a substantial outing rather than one more stop before lunch.

9. Hai Van Pass

Hai Van Pass is about the coastal journey and viewpoints as much as one destination. A driver is a practical option if you want to enjoy the scenery without handling mountain roads. Check conditions before travelling and stop only where it is safe. Clearer weather generally makes the views more rewarding.

10. Da Nang Cathedral

The cathedral offers a compact architecture stop in the centre, recognisable by its pink exterior. Check the gate and visitor arrangements on the day and respect religious services. It fits naturally with a market or riverfront outing, rather than needing a separate journey across the city.

Keep the mountain outings flexible around visibility and weather. For a shorter visit, My Khe, Marble Mountains and the riverfront already make a varied introduction. Read our Marble Mountains guide before planning the climb.
