A ten-day central Vietnam trip can combine Hue, Hoi An and Da Nang without changing hotels every night. This sample gives Hue three nights, Hoi An four and Da Nang two. Adjust the order to your actual flights; the schedule does not assume a particular direct air service exists.

Nine nights across three bases

The official guides to Hue, Hoi An and Da Nang establish the destination themes. The allocation below is our suggested pace.

Day Main plan Overnight
1 Arrive and settle into Hue Hue
2 Imperial City and a relaxed meal Hue
3 One separate heritage outing or a slower city day Hue
4 Transfer to Hoi An Hoi An
5 Old-town exploration Hoi An
6 Food-focused day or a pre-arranged class Hoi An
7 Beach time or a weather-appropriate alternative Hoi An
8 Transfer to Da Nang Da Nang
9 A city or coast day Da Nang
10 Depart according to flight timing None

Hotel total: nine nights. Transfer days have room for meals and settling in; they are not advertised as full sightseeing days.

Start with depth in Hue

Give the Imperial City its own main slot. Choose another heritage visit on a separate day if that matches your interests and mobility. Our one-day Hue guide can anchor the first full day without dictating every hour of the stay.

A second full day is also room for rest, food and changes in weather. It need not become a competition to see the largest number of sites.

Use Hoi An as a real stay

Four nights allow the old town, food and a possible beach visit to happen at different times. Compare Old Town and An Bang bases before booking. Avoid reserving a large cooking-class meal immediately before another substantial food event.

Finish where departure logistics work

The final Da Nang stay is useful if it fits your onward journey. Confirm the actual airport, terminal and flight before choosing your final hotel. If your flights work better in reverse, reverse the route and keep a similarly calm final day.

Can I stay in Da Nang and day-trip everywhere? Compare the repeated journeys with changing bases. It may suit some travelers, but it changes how much time you have in Hue and Hoi An.

What changes in wet weather? Replace beach plans with suitable indoor or city activities and follow current local conditions. Use our regional weather guide as background, not a forecast.
